Four cars collided near Belfair today, sending one man to the hospital.
The accident occurred today around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 3, about one mile north of Belfair, according to a report from the Washington State Patrol.
A 52-year-old Belfair man was driving a 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck northbound on Highway 3 when he reportedly struck the rear in the vehicle ahead of him, a 2015 Ford Edge driven by a 52-year-old Belfair man. The force of the collision reportedly caused the Ford to strike the vehicle in front of it — a 2010 Honda Accord driven by a 71-year-old Grapeview man — which in turn caused the Accord to strike the vehicle in front of it, a 2007 Ford Focus driven by a 31-year-old Bremerton man.
The only person injured was the driver of the Ford Edge, who was transported to Mason General Hospital.
The WSP report lists the cause of the accident as the driver of the Chevy pickup truck following too closely.
