A Sequim man was injured in a car accident near Poulsbo Wednesday morning.
Harry D. Bassett, 69, of Sequim, was transported to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton Wednesday after he struck another vehicle, according to a report from the Washington State Patrol.
Around 10 a.m. Wednesday, Bassett was driving a white 1993 Mazda MX6 eastbound on state Route 104 approaching state Route 307, about five miles north of Poulsbo, according to the WSP report. Another driver in a white 2012 Nissan NV van was reportedly heading northbound on state Route 307 turning onto eastbound state Route 104 when Bassett’s vehicle collided with the second driver. Both vehicles came to rest blocking the intersection, according to the report.
The driver of the van was reportedly uninjured.
Bassett was charged with failure to stop at a red traffic signal, the report states.
Both drivers wore seatbelts, according to the report.
