A Bremerton man was arrested yesterday after he reportedly struck two children with his car.
At around 3:20 p.m. Monday, two students, ages 12 and 14, got off their school bus and were walking home when a vehicle struck them as they were crossing the street on Nollwood Lane, according to a press release from the Bremerton Police Department. The students are being treated for serious injuries at the hospital, according to the release.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop to check on the children and drove to his house a short distance away, according to the release.
Police reportedly contacted the driver on the front porch of his home. The driver, a 41-year-old Bremerton man, was reportedly processed for DUI, and later arrested and booked into Kitsap County Jail on charges of vehicular assault, DUI, hit and run, and third-degree driving without a license.
