Police seized guns, meth and cash, and arrested two people in an undercover operation in Bremerton last Thursday.

The arrests were made by the Special Operations Group, a joint undercover unit including the Bremerton and Poulsbo police departments, according to a press release from the Bremerton Police Department.

Detectives from the group conducted a series of controlled drug buys from a suspect and served a search warrant on an apartment at 610 Washington Ave., the release states. While searching the apartment, detectives seized 137 grams of methamphetamine; four firearms, including a sawed-off shotgun; bulletproof body armor; a vehicle; and $688 cash.

A man and women were arrested and jailed. Both will be referred to the Kitsap County Prosecutor for felony drug charges, the release states. The man, 38, is a convicted felon; charges for felon in possession of a firearm will also be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office, according to the release.

“Everyone keeps talking about non-violent drug offenders, but this is what drug dealers often look like — a convicted felon with a ballistic vest and four firearms,” Bremerton Police Chief Steve Strachan said in the release. “We need to work together to get these violent and dangerous people out of our community, and keep them locked up.”
